Inside Space – The Master Bedroom

General comments

In issue 2013 – 1, we considered shape factors and their influence on the Feng Shui of the Master bedroom. In Issue 2013 – 2, we explained where to locate the best position for the bed. In the 3rd issue the bed itself was the topic. This final newsletter of 2013 details the Applications of the First 4 Gua to the Master bed room. 2014 – 1 will explore the remaining 4 Gua and subsequent newsletters the effects of colors and art, and the unseen frequencies permeating inside space.

The Bagua & the Master Bedroom.

Prior to dealing with the applications, we must first delineate the Gua locations. Begin by placing yourself at the entrance door to your room. Basically the room is divided up into 9 equal squares – three across and three down. As you look into the room, the Hsun Gua (Wealth) is located in the far left corner area. Moving clockwise around the room, the Li Gua (Reputation) is the center of the rear wall. The far right corner is the K’un Gua (Relationships). Center of right wall is Tui Gua (Children), near right corner Ch’ien Gua (Benefactors). The center of the wall that your door is located on becomes the K’an Gua (Career). The near left corner is the Gen Gua (Knowledge) and lastly, the center of the left wall Chen Gua (Health).

It is worth noting that a given Gua consists of more than simply a point on the wall. For example, the K’un Gua of Relationships and Romance is not just the very corner of the room but more precisely the entire 1/9th of the room. Furthermore, there is a continuum of flow from one Gua to the next rather than an abrupt termination.

Each Gua has additional attributes associated with it. The most common ones are: Direction, Color, Element and the Body. As an example, the K’an Gua of Career is attributed to the color black, the direction north, the element of water and the kidney/bladder. These and other associations can easily be located on the internet. For our discussion, we will only use […]

What is on Feng Shui Lou’s mind?

July 15, 2013

It’s not very surprising that the Feng Shui cures most often requested during consultations revolve around prosperity, abundance and money. There is no end to the number of books written on this subject. Most are familiar with the various books on the Law of Attraction such as those by Esther & Jerry Hicks.   In this issue, I would like to present Cosmic Awareness’ The Law of Prosperity. It is another slant on the topic that is simply stated and directly to the point. Maybe it will help some of us during these difficult economic times.

The Law of Prosperity states that one prospers in direct proportion to the enjoyment one receives in seeing the prosperity of oneself and others. And that one’s prosperity is denied in direct proportion to one’s feeling of guilt for being prosperous, or at the envy and hostility one feels on witnessing other’s prosperity.

This law states that when one prospers all may prosper. The Law of Prosperity works for those who hold images, feelings, actions, dialogue and attitudes associated with beauty, joy, love, and prosperity and works against those who hold images, feelings, actions, dialogues and attitudes associated with ugliness, self pity, complaints, envy and hostility toward oneself or any other person, group, race or class.

Those who think, feel, act and speak of themselves as being poor and needy, must spend three times the energy for the same prosperity received by those who think, feel, act and speak of themselves as being wealthy and prosperous. An attitude that dwells in depression, leads the way to physical, spiritual, mental, social and financial depression.        Those who maintain prosperous attitudes, even in states of poverty, are foreign to such states and will not be allowed to remain out of place in those poverty situations but will instead be deported to those prosperous states where such prosperous attitudes belong.

In issue 2013 – 1, we considered shape factors and their influence on the Feng Shui of the Master bedroom. In Issue 2013 – 2, we explained where to locate the best position for the bed. Now the bed itself is our current topic. Later issues will explore the contributions of each Gua in the room; the effects of colors and art, and lastly a section on the unseen vibrations & frequencies permeating inside the space.

The Bed

Construction Materials

Frame:        Ideally, the bed frame should be made of solid wood and be quite strong without squeaks nor should it move when shaken. The portion supporting the mattress must also be strong whether it is made of boards or solid sections. A solid frame is your support in life.

Some Feng Shui texts recommend a metal frame such as wrought iron or brass beds for persons who have the elements of metal or water in their horoscope. I advise against this for two reasons: First the metal head boards are open and […]

What is on Feng Shui Lou’s mind?

May 30, 2013

In this issue I would like to present the concept of description and how it can have amazing effects upon our lives and attitudes.

To begin, Cosmic Awareness – the same source as Edgar Cayce’s – provides us with the Law of Description:

The Law of Description is that law which serves as a tool for creative purposes. This as likened unto the paint brush of the artist, the chisel of the sculptor. Description as that which carves out images, creates boundaries, creates shapes and forms, creates limitations, creates confinements and creates also those concepts which expand those boundaries to release from confinement. The law of description knows no morality. The law of description is capable of creating anything for any entity.” (Excerpted from Cosmic Awareness Communications)

We must beware of the law of description and how we use it, for we can paint ourselves into a box that is hard to escape from. If we say we are this and not that nor that or we say I can’t do this or I hate this, we are definitely creating a box or a trap. I could say: I am a conservative, nerdy guy, short, a dyed in the wool New Englander. I am one who dislikes meat, cheese, people dressed in white and black; I don’t look good in green and so on. It doesn’t take long for you to see what I am doing to myself by owning all those narrowing descriptions of myself. Conversely I may expand my horizons by altering how I “see” myself. I would rather say I am an opened minded person who is interested in and loves all kinds of things and positive experiences. Even though born in New England, I am a citizen of the world, loving life and all people, all races. The difference in description and how I feel as I state the latter description is obvious.

In my training with the Kahunas, it was interesting to see that they were keenly aware of the effects of description. They never applied labels to anyone or anything. In healing sessions, for example, they observed symptoms but never applied crippling diagnoses like cancer of diabetes because of the massive negative energy coupled to the words. Incurable was not in their vocabulary.

Based on the Law of Description, it is a very revealing exercise to take a close look at all our statements which describe us. Here is a final example: By simply saying “we are not techies”, we are creating a wall that makes it difficult to understand and learn how to operate technical things such as computers and cell phones – and then we wonder why all kinds of issues pop up when we use those same gadgets.

What does your description box look like? How many self descriptions can you find about yourself that are limiting you and how many do you find that free you?

What is on Feng Shui Lou’s mind?

March 19, 2013

At first blush, it appears to me like the whole world is becoming even more wacky– off the deep edge than 2012! Everywhere I look, whether it’s in the news, government or society in general, chaos or disarray is displayed.                            My personal choice is to not expend any more energy or fear this year about what we are being fed. I believe it’s time for us to move beyond the illusion controlling us and to get to work creating the better world, the better life anywhere and everywhere we can. Enough is enough and it’s now up to us – You and I – to clean things up! Thinking this way really resonates well within me and allows me to make clearer decisions and move forward without paralysis. If you are not already doing the same, try this yourself and see how it works for you.

By the way…

Did you know that in many parts of Europe and especially Germany, “it is considered mal-practice to not recommend to a patient to have a dowser check for Geopathics in the home of a person with a long term illness” (A direct quote from Dr. Hans Nieper – world famous German research oncologist).

The Master Bedroom

General comments

In 2012 we discussed the kitchen, dining room, living room, home office and children’s rooms. We will talk now about the Master Bedroom – the most important room. There are a number of facets to this room that require considerable explanation. Let’s break it down into segments such as: Shape factors, the bed itself and the aspects of each Gua area. Following all that would be a discussion on the effects of colors and art. Lastly a final section on the unseen vibrations & frequencies permeating inside. And so we begin with shape factors.

Shape Factors

Basic Shape When I speak of shape, I am speaking of the room’s boundaries – walls, windows and doors that form the shape of the bedroom. The walls include exterior ones and the walls that connect – adjoin other rooms or spaces. One must include the walls of any room or space that can only be accessed once inside the room. Typically that would be a bathroom, closets, and sitting room. These are to be considered as part of the room.

Work with a plan if available, otherwise make a sketch that is reasonably to scale and mark the outline. It does not have to be an architectural marvel of a drawing yet accurate enough to correctly ascertain the shape. Draw in windows and doorways and direction the doors open: (i.e. in /out, swinging left or right). Note direction of North on the drawing. Next show the location of the bed and major pieces of furniture such as bureaus, night stands, sofas, chairs and mirrors. You will be able to utilize this drawing in this issue and in subsequent issues, so save […]
